Help us reach our goal of $40,000

How has StarHouse touched YOUR life?

If StarHouse means something to you, please consider supporting our Earth Stewardship and fire mitigation efforts this year!

The reality of fire danger is VERY real for all of us, and we need your help to preserve and conserve this temple for sacred connection right here in our home of Boulder.

Support the preservation of sacred space in Boulder County.

The StarHouse provides sacred ground for spiritual and ceremonial practice based on Earth stewardship, and seasonal and celestial community celebration — a sanctuary nestled in the forest, and a remote reprieve in the midst of so much movement.

Fire Mitigation performed by cutting your own Christmas Tree

What is a Sacred Shingle?

We love the beautifully weathered shingles put in place 33 years ago … and those shingles are a fire hazard in this new era of fire-ember storms (think Marshall Fire).
We need to replace those shingles with fire-safe shingles. We received an estimate of $40,000!

During constuction, we will be saving the original shingles. With your donation, we offer you this thank you: you will receive a Sacred Shingle that has absorbed years of StarHouse energy!

A message from David Tresemer

A short video of past fire mitigation efforts over the years.

The StarHouse has prioritized and planned for the preservation of StarHouse and implemented a Fire Mitigation Plan. This plan consisted of advice and support from:

  • Wildfire Partners
  • Sunshine Canyon Fire Department
  • Boulder County Community Wildfire Protection Plan
  • Professional Forest Management Companies
  • Many others

Look at what we have accomplished so far!

2022 Certified Partner

The StarHouse is Certified by Wildfire Partners

2021 The Retreat Cabin

Re-shingle the retreat cabin

40 year old dry wooden shingles were replaced by new state of the art fire resistant shingles. This was a recomendation from Wild Fire Partners who were concerned that a hot coal would get "stuck" in the shingles and the entire cabin would most likely burn down.

The cost was significant but after reviewing the Marshall Fire, we are confident in our decsion.

2020 Forest Management

Professionally Planned and Completed

The StarHouse is surrounded by hundreds of acres of forest. While this is beautiful, it is a threat to StarHouse during a wildfire. We consulted with the county and Forest Management professionals and stratigally cut down hundreds of trees. While this does not eliminate risks, it significantly reduces the threat to StarHouse.
