The dazzling beings of the heavens influence our lives intimately. Consider the idea that your first breath was not random, but rather coordinated with heavenly positions and movements. It’s a hypothesis, which we will help you learn to evaluate, true or not true.
You are invited to explore with us the foundations of a new western anthroposophic sidereal astrology.
Drawing on our extensive experience in star wisdom, we will provide you with instructions for creating your birth chart and assist you in learning to read your own chart, as well as the birth-moment charts of others. We will use the instrument of the StarHouse to support this exploration.
Whether you are an experienced astrologer or astrosopher, or you are new to these pursuits, this course is for anyone serious about self-knowledge, and assisting others, through the lens of star wisdom.
Series 1 will ground you in the basics of a new astrology and will serve as a prerequisite for additional A New Astrology series, should you wish to take your exploration even further.
What's Included
This course includes five content-rich meetings, plus a comprehensive Bonus Q&A. Each meeting includes a recording of a live Zoom call with a wealth of information shared by Brian, Robert & David, as well as handouts and homework relevant to the theme of each meeting. Includes more than 12 hours of video recordings, with each meeting running approximately 2 hours. We will also send you your birth chart (the way we like to work with it) for reference during the course.

The heavens seem so far away—or are they? Evidence of their influence in our lives comes first into our physical bodies. We find the path to stars and planets through the physical body.
Rudolf Steiner recommended that one begin one’s exploration of cosmos and existence through wonder at the physical level, and we will do just that.
We will begin the approach to your sidereal birth chart. {Instructions are provided for creating your chart in the recommended form.}

The activity of the twelve great beings of the zodiac was revealed to the initiates of ancient times and passed on to us.

Planets
Meeting 3: The Planets as Purveyors of Feeling
The Sun and Moon dominate our experience of the sky. And yet there are wandering stars, the planets, that engage our attention ~ when Venus shines out strongly, or Jupiter chases Saturn for a rare conjunction.
How can we demonstrate the impacts of these planets upon our lives?
How can we work with the existence and movement of these planets against the backdrop of the zodiac?

Meeting 4: Aspects - Qualities of Relationship
Key to our life of feeling are the interactions between the different planetary bodies ~ their quality of relationships with each other.
We will explore the planetary aspects from this perspective.

Houses give the most delicate details of how the first breath works with the celestial alignments and activities to give a full picture of the human being’s choices to engage with their lives.

About the Facilitators
Brian Gray has been a student of Anthroposophy since 1976, and of astrology since 1966. He has been a teacher of subjects related to Anthroposophy and star wisdom at Rudolf Steiner College for 38 years. Brian is also the author of star wisdom articles (published in the Journal for Star Wisdom) and is a presenter of several video courses on WiseCosmos.org.
Robert Schiappacasse has been involved for many years as a national leader in the Waldorf and independent school movement, serving in leadership roles and as an advisor for North American Waldorf schools on school administration, organization, and governance. Robert began studying astrology in 1971, and later studied with astrosophy pioneer Willi Sucher. He has been a student of Rudolf Steiner’s Anthroposophy for more than 40 years. Robert is the author of star wisdom articles (published in the Journal for Star Wisdom), and is the co-author of the book Star Wisdom & Rudolf Steiner.
David Tresemer, Ph.D. is the founder of the StarHouse in Boulder, Colorado, and the developer of the Solar Cross system for the “star poem” qualities of each of the 360 zodiacal degrees. He has been an organic/biodynamic farmer and written The Scythe Book: Mowing Hay, Cutting Weeds, and Harvesting Small Grains with Hand Tools, which has sold a thousand copies every year for forty years. He is the author of star wisdom articles (published in the Journal for Star Wisdom and other books), and is the co-author of the book Star Wisdom & Rudolf Steiner. David is editor and contributor to The Counselor… As If Soul and Spirit Matter, and the past president of the Association for Anthroposophic Psychology.
