History from Community Table to Unity Table
Scott Medina managed the former Community Table dinner program in Boulder for over 28 years, which originally was its own non-profit before later merging with Bridge House during the subsequent two decades.
As of August 2026, due to their new financial stabilization plan, Bridge House made the difficult decision to close the dinner program, along with Community Table Kitchen.
We are now launching Unity Table dinners
To continue this important program without pause, Boulder’s only free dinner program, which has run uninterrupted five nights per week for 30 years.
Over these 30 years, the dinner program has served over 500,000 meals to Boulder’s low income and those experiencing homelessness.
With support from the community collaboration of Savory Cuisines Catering Company now cooking all the nutritious meals, local faith communities hosting the evenings and a wealth of local volunteers serving the dinners, Unity Table was formed under the non-profit fiscal umbrella of StarHouse, a local Boulder 30+ year non-profit.
Some of our Unity Table guests are indigent and living on a very tight budget so this community dinner program 5 nights a week is budget relieving, perhaps keeping them from becoming homeless, while some guests are currently experiencing homelessness, in which case a free dinner is supporting a vital basic human services need.
